The last years in the career of the Bulgarian pianist Simeon Goshev have been marked by success. In 2019 he won the Bösendorfer competition in Vienna and received the 2nd Prize in the biggest international piano competition in Bulgaria – “Pantcho Vladigerov”. In November the same year, after a busy season with concerts around Europe, he also debuted as soloist of one of Bulgaria’s most prominent orchestras – the National Radio Orchestra, performing Beethoven 4th Piano Concerto.
The first CD featuring his performances – “Bulgarian Piano Heritage”, a collection of some of the most prominent piano compositions by Bulgarian composers, came out in 2020 and a second part of the same project, this time entirely with interpretations of Simeon Goshev, is expected to be released by the end of 2021.
Simeon has recorded for the Bulgarian National Radio, the Bulgarian National Television, the Bavarian Radio and the Austrian National Radio (ORF). Since 2020 he is also a Bösendorfer Artist and is represented by the Career Center of the MDW. He is a laureate of many international piano competitions: “Leos Janacek” in Brno, “De Bach au Jazz” in Paris, “Evangelia Tjiarri” in Cyprus and many more.
Simeon obtained his Bachelor degree from the University of Music Vienna in the class of Professor Stefan Vladar and after an Erasmus year in Belgium with Prof. Alan Weiss, returned to Vienna to successfully acquire his MA degree (‘mit Auszeichnung’) after studying with world renowned pianists like Oleg Maisenberg and Liliya Zilberstein. In 2021 Simeon Goshev obtained a PhD degree from the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria.
In Season 2021/22 Simeon Goshev has solo engagements in the Musikverein Vienna, Royal Theater in Warsaw, Liszt Festival Raiding, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and many others.
